Look at Food with Neutral Eyes

Look at food with neutral eyes

When you are able to look at food with neutral eyes, a lot of stress and angst over your food choices will diminish.

You see most of our stress over food comes from our perspective. If we think food is bad…when we eat it, we will feel guilty. As that means we did something bad.

One of the most significant things you can do to being decreasing your stress over food, is to refrain from labeling food ‘good’ or ‘bad’.

Apples are sweet, crunchy and refreshing
Chocolate is sweet, smooth and creamy
Ice cream is cool and perfect for a hot day

None of them are bad or good. They each have a valid place in your food choices. How much and how often you have them, all depends on your health goals.

If you wanting to lose a couple of pounds, then an ice cream once a week is going to be fine.

However, if ice-cream is one of your absolute favourites, and you’re eating a wide variety of nutritious meals, then opting to have a small scoop every night might be better for your sanity.

It’s all about restraint not restriction.

Be mindful in your consumption, instead of cutting out foods because someone says they’re ‘bad’.
